The new Mizuho Securities was formed on May 7, 2009, through the merger of Mizuho Securities and Shinko Securities. This merger combines the global franchise and wholesale securities know-how of Mizuho Securities in investment banking with the nationwide sales platform and full-service securities network of Shinko Securities. We are confident this combination will enable us to create and offer even higher-value-added financial services that are responsive to the needs of our clients. Our goal as the Mizuho Financial Group's core securities company is to be the most reliable investment bank with global reach.
