The Employment Consortium of Mizuho Financial Group, Mizuho Bank, Mizuho Corporate Bank, Mizuho Securities and Mizuho Trust & Banking (hereinafter called the "Employment Consortium") hereby establishes and announces the following "Privacy Policy for Protection of Personal Data on Applicants for Employment" (hereinafter referred to as the "Policy") as the Employment Consortium's primary policy to protect personal data with respect to applicants for employment and constitute the Employment Consortium's perspective with regard to the treatment of personal data in this respect.

Basic policy

The Employment Consortium recognizes its important social responsibility to ensure the protection and proper use of personal data, and will endeavor to comply with related laws and regulations, including the "Law Concerning Protection of Personal Data," and rules and regulations of each company comprising the Employment Consortium, such as this Policy, in performing employment-related operations, thereby protecting and properly using personal data on applicants for employment.

Proper acquisition of data

The Employment Consortium will acquire personal data on applicants for employment by proper and lawful means to the extent that such data is necessary for the Employment Consortium's operations.

Purposes of use

The Employment Consortium will specify the intended uses of personal data on applicants for employment, and will handle such data only to achieve these intended uses, and not any other purpose. Similarly, if applicable laws or regulations separately limit the intended uses of a specific personal data item, the Employment Consortium shall ensure that the handling of such data item does not extend to uses other than those allowed by said laws or regulations.
The intended uses of personal data on applicants for employment at the Employment Consortium are displayed on the Employment Consortium's website and related locations.

Limitation on provision to a third party

The Employment Consortium will in principle not provide any third party with personal data on applicants for employment, except when the consent of the applicant is obtained or the Employment Consortium does so under applicable laws and regulations. However, the Employment Consortium may provide personal data on applicants for employment to any party other than the Employment Consortium without the consent of the applicant if handling of personal data is commissioned to a third party to achieve the intended uses of said data, if any of the companies comprising the Employment Consortium merges with another company, or if such data is jointly used with a separately specified party.

Treatment of sensitive information

The Employment Consortium will not acquire or use any sensitive information on applicants for employment (information on political views, religion, nationality, visa, healthcare, etc.) or provide such information to any third party, except when the Employment Consortium is required to do so under laws and regulations or the consent of the applicant is obtained in order to perform standard operations.
The Employment Consortium will not acquire or use any sensitive information on applicants for employment (information on labor union membership, race, nation, family status, or legal domicile) or provide such information to any third party.

Security measures

The Employment Consortium will endeavor to retain and manage personal data on applicants for employment such that the accuracy of such data is maintained and the data is always up to date, and implement reasonable security measures to avoid disclosure, etc. In addition, the Employment Consortium will also properly supervise employees or commissioned parties handling personal data on applicants for employment.

Continual improvement

The Employment Consortium will endeavor to continue improving the treatment of personal data on applicants for employment by reviewing this Policy from time to time based on developments in information technology as well as changes in social demands, etc.

Procedures for request of disclosure, etc.

The Employment Consortium will make efforts to provide proper, quick response to requests for correction, addition, or removal of personal data on applicants for employment, suspension or discontinuation of use of such data, or suspension of provision of such data to a third party, if the notice of the intended use of personal data on applicants for employment held by the Employment Consortium, request for disclosure of the content, or the content of personal data held by the Employment Consortium runs counter to actual use.

Response to feedback and requests

The Employment Consortium will make efforts to provide serious, quick response to feedback and requests involving the Employment Consortium's treatment of personal data.
